A panel discussion was held on a survey of how American’s moral values are influenced by the media. Topics included the correlation between adults' exposure to television and their acceptance of personal responsibility to self, family, charitable causes, religion, and social standards. A report, The Media Assault on American Values, containing the results of a “National Cultural Values Survey,” was released. After the participants' presentations, they responded to audience members' questions.

Guest speaker Michael Medved is the author of books including Saving Childhood: Protecting Our Children from the National Assault on Innocence and Hollywood vs. America, both published by Harper. close
