Asra Nomani is the author of Standing Alone in Mecca: An American Woman’s Struggle for the Soul of Islam, published by HarperSanFrancisco.
Asra Nomani talked about the investigation into the death of her friend Daniel Pearl, a former colleague at the Wall Street Journal. She is currently a visiting scholar in journalism at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies and is leading their Pearl Project, a faculty-student investigation into the kidnapping and murder of Daniel Pearl in Pakistan in 2002. Pearl was staying at Nomani’s home in Karachi when he was kidnapped.
