Panelists talked about the open sources of information available to the public. Topics included the media’s ability to access information, the role and responsibilities of embedded journalists in the field, the use of world-wide stringers, and the public’s interest in sensitive information. They also responded to questions from the audience.

The Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Open Source Conference 2007: “Expanding the Horizons” was held to raise awareness about open source and encourage information sharing among the Intelligence Community and its partners in academia, think tanks, non-government organizations, private industry, and with federal, state, local and tribal entities and international partners. close
