Committee investigators, food safety experts and FDA officials testified at a hearing titled: “Diminished Capacity: Can the FDA Assure the Safety and Security of the Nation’s Food Supply? Part 2.” They talked about the potential impact of a proposed reorganization of the Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) and planned laboratory closures would have on Food and Drug Administration efforts to ensure the safety of the food supply. They also talked about current safety standards, import inspections, and resources available. close
