Burt Folsom talked about 19th century industrialists. He argued that free markets interfered with predatory pricing rather than encouraged it and that entrepreneurs such as Cornelius Vanderbilt and John D. Rockefeller were unfairly demonized as “robber barons” by the Left. Professor Folsom is the author of The Myth of the Robber Barons: A New Look at the Rise of Big Business in America, published by the Young America Foundation. He answered questions from the college students in the audience at the 29th annual National Conservative Student Conference held at George Washington University. close
