Representative Kendrick Meek, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, talked about U.S. policy on the war in Iraq and the Armed Services Committee hearing later in the day to hear testimony from General James Jones (Ret.), chairman of the Independent Commission on the Security Forces in Iraq. Also discussed were the Government Accountability Office (GAO) Report on Iraq released on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, and the reports expected the next week from General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker. Photographs were shown of Representative Meek in Iraq during the August break. He responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. close
