The Senate Armed Services Committee held a hearing on the Government Accountability Office’s report on the performance record of the Iraqi government. David Walker testified about operations in Iraq and benchmarks for progress established by Congress. The report concluded that Iraq had failed to meet all but two of nine security goals Congress had set as part of a list of 18 benchmarks of progress, and that other benchmarks had been partially met. close
