Ms. Ivins died of cancer at the age of 62 on January 31, 2007. The event began with a slide show, set to music, showing the writer at every age. The speakers included Lou Dubose, co-author of many books with Molly Ivins, including her last book, Bill of Wrongs: The Executive Branch’s Assault on America’s Fundamental Rights, which would be released by Random House the next month.
