Less Safe, Less Free
David Cole talked about the book he co-wrote with Jules Lobel, Less Safe, Less Free: Why America Is Losing the War on Terror, published by New Press. In his book, Professor Cole argues that, despite the weakening of Constitutional rights by the Bush administration, the country is now more vulnerable to terrorist attacks. Bradford Berenson, a former White House associate counsel who advised President George W. Bush on many of the policies discussed in the book, joined him in a debate on the merits of the U.S. government’s response to September 11. The moderator was Mark Agrast. They responded to questions from members of the audience. close
