David Kennedy talked about the book he edited The Library of Congress World War II Companion, published by Simon and Schuster. The book uses excerpts from contemporary letters, journals, pamphlets, and other documents, as well as first-person accounts recorded by the Library of Congress Veterans History Project to examine World War II, its causes, conduct, and aftermath. Professor Kennedy talked about how the decisions about how to fight the war transformed American society. He responded to questions from members of the audience. close
