Cathy Wilkerson talked about her book Flying Close to the Sun: My Life and Times As a Weatherman, published by Seven Stories Press. She was a member of the 1960's radical political group the Weather Underground. In her memoir, Ms. Wilkerson recounts her middle-class upbringing and her introduction to radical politics. She examines the inner-workings of the Weathermen and describes the morning of March 6, 1970, when three members of the organization were killed in an explosion in Ms. Wilkerson’s family home, making her a fugitive. The guest interviewer was Congressman Bobby Rush.
