Mr. Lenhard spoke about proposed changes to FEC’s regulations on the content and allowable timing of certain forms of advertising that were paid for by corporation or labor unions, known as electioneering communications. The change was prompted by a June 2007 Supreme Court ruling that overturned a provision of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law on ads that specifically mention a candidates' name. He responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. close
