Michael Neufeld talked about his book Von Braun: Dreamer of Space, Engineer of War, published by Knopf. Mr. Neufeld chronicles the life of Wernher von Braun (1912-1977), a key developer of the Nazi and the post-war American rocket programs. Mr. Neufeld talked about the importance of von Braun’s creation of the V-1 and V-2 missile system and his involvement in the U.S. space race with the Soviet Union. He focused on how von Braun became a member of the Nazi Party and the effect this had on the rest of his life. Mr. Neufeld responded to questions from members of the audience. close
