Bobby Franklin was interviewed about the legislative efforts of Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) to put more oversight over the cell phone industry through their bill, the Cell Phone Empowerment Act of 2007 (S. 2033). On October 17, 2007, the bill was the focus of a hearing by the Senate Commerce Committee. Mr. Franklin responded to a video clip of comments by Senator Rockefeller about early termination fees at the hearing. Other topics included the Federal Communications Commission requiring wireless industries to perform new tests on their 911 location systems and the approval during the week of the Internet Tax Freedom Act of 2007 by the U.S. House of Representatives. close
