Failing America's Faithful
Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, former lieutenant governor of Maryland, talked about her book Failing America’s Faithful: How Today’s Churches Are Mixing God with Politics and Losing Their Way, published by Warner Books. She talked about how churches are focusing on abortion, same-sex marriage, and stem cell research inistead of the broader range of social justice issues. She said that her own Catholic Church seemed afraid of women and focused on maintaining policies harmful to women. She was interviewed at The Hill's Sixth Annual Political Book Fair at the Trover Shop, a bookstore on Capitol Hill. close
