President Bush spoke about operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, efforts to combat international terrorism, and challenged Congress on a number of issues, including their growing resistance to his nomination of Judge Michael Mukasey as attorney general. He said that delays in the nomination set a dangerous precedent and that he would not nominate a candidate for attorney general who would publicly comment on the legality of interrogation techniques. close
