The five commissioners testified about current proceedings involving media and telecommunications policy. Chairman Martin has scheduled a vote on a rule to ease media ownership rules. Two commissioners said the rule change would lead to consolidation that would limit independent outlets and local news coverage.

Deborah Taylor Tate is also chairman of the Federal-State Joint Board on Universal Service. close
