David Blight was interviewed on stage by James Basker about his book, A Slave No More: Two Men Who Escaped to Freedom, Including Their Own Narratives of Emancipation, published by Harcourt. Professor Blight talked about receiving the written narratives from a relative of one of the diarists. He described the lives of the two former slaves, Wallace Turnage (1846-1916) and John Washington (1838-1918). After the discussion Professor Blight responded to audience members' questions.
