A.J. Jacobs talked about his book The Year of Living Biblically: One Man’s Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible, published by Simon and Schuster. The book detailed his attempt to live by the by a literal interpretation of the Old and New Testament for one year. He told stories about his attempts to stone adulterers, not wearing clothing with mixed fibers, and not shaving his beard. He concluded that it is not feasible to live by a purely fundamental interpretation of either Bible in modern society.
