Director General Margaret Chan talked about global climate change and its relation to global health. She said that global warming will result in extreme weather events such as storms, heat waves, droughts and floods. Weak health infrastructures will be least able to cope with these disasters with the greatest impact on health in areas where food supply is already precarious. Topics included global partnerships, and the shortage of public health care providers. After her presentation she responded to audience members' questions. close
