Strobe Talbott talked about his book The Great Experiment: The Story of Ancient Empires, Modern States, and the Quest for a Global Nation, published by Simon and Schuster. Mr. Talbott discussed the development of nation-states and the progression to a global nation through The League of Nations and the United Nations. Mr. Talbott argued against the unilateral foreign policy of the Bush administration and proposed that the United States take the lead in multilateral global politics in the future. He responded to questions from members of the audience. close
