Paul Singer reported by remote video on the defeat the previous night of Senator DeMint’s earmark amendment to the fiscal year 2009 budget resolution. A video clip was shown of Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) urging the passage of a one-year moritorium on earmarks. The amendment was defeated 71-29. Mr. Singer talked about the reasoning of the five Democrats, including Senators Clinton and Obama, who voted for it, and why not all Republicans supported the moritorium. close
