Health Care Reform
This was the closing plenary keynote address at the annual health care conference of Familes, USA, held in the Grand Ballroom of the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Wade Henderson talked about health care as a fundamental civil right. He recalled the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.'s, fight for economic justice and the links between economics and health care such as insurance portability, bankruptcy, prenatal care, and the health of school chilren. He talked about the problems in refoming the health care system and the proposals of presidential candidates.
