NASA officials talked with reporters about President Bush’s fiscal year 2009 budget proposal for their department of $17.6 billion, a 1.8 percent increase over the fiscal year 2008 enacted budget. Other topics included installing additional modules on the International Space Station, space exploration, retiring the Space Shuttle, and developing the Orion crew exploration vehicle to send humans back to the moon. They responded to reporters' questions.
