He chairs the House Republican Policy Committee’s Task Force on Capital Markets, Economic and Information Security. The Bush administration on March 31 proposed a broad overhaul of the financial regulatory system, including giving the Federal Reserve more power and creating a federal Mortgage Origination Commission.
