Republican House members spoke on the steps of the Capitol about the need to re-authorize the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act rather than to keep extending for short periods of time. The members left the floor of the U.S. House to draw attention to the decision by the House Democrat leadership to leave Washington for the President’s Day recess without passing legislation necessary to permit the gathering of intelligence on foreign terrorists but to spend time citing administration officials for contempt. Representative Boehner responded to a question from the press. close
