President Bush spoke to reporters after a meeting with his economic team. He talked about his economic policy. He thanked Congress for passing his economic stimulus package and encouraged them to make his tax cuts permanent. He said that he did not support legislation that would raise interest rates or reward lenders, but did support legislation that made it easier for Americans to refinance their mortgages. close
