“The Communicators” is C-SPAN’s weekly series that examines the people and events currently shaping telecommunications policy.
Representative Cliff Stearns, who has served as ranking member of the House Energy and Commerce Telecommunications and the Internet Subcommittee since December 2007, talked by remote video from a House studio about several issues related to his activities on the committee. Topics included: What he hopes to bring to the committee and issues he would like to see addressed, introduced legislation from the committee regarding the practices of broadband companies and content providers (as well as “net neutrality” issues), the transition to digital television and practices of the Federal Communications Commission.
