E.J. Dionne is a columnist for the Washington Post and covers national policy and politics. He is also a professor at Georgetown University and a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.
E.J. Dionne talked about his book Souled Out: Reclaiming Faith and Politics After the Religious Right, published by Princeton University Press. In his book Mr. Dionne contends that the era of the “Religious Right” is over and that evangelicals are becoming increasingly more diverse and open minded about politics. As a result, Mr. Dionne says the time is right for Democrats to reach out to this segment of the population and gives examples of how this is already happening. He responded to questions from members of the audience.
