Roger Simon was interviewed by telephone about the Democratic National Committee’s decision to change the 2008 primary calendar. He talked about the history of the change, the consequences to the primary schedule, and what remedies remain to the problem of seating delegates from Michigan and Florida.

A video clip was shown of the Democratic National Committee meeting from August 19, 2006, when the committee approved a new 2008 primary calendar. The proposal allowed South Carolina and Nevada to move up their primary dates and forbade other states from scheduling a primary before February 5, 2008. One year later, the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee met on August 25, 2007, to hear Florida’s arguments for moving up their primary date in violation of party rules. Video clips were shown from this meeting, including testimony from Florida Democratic Chairman Karen Thurman and DNC member Donna Brazille. close
