Book Reception for Onward, Christian Soldiers

A book party was held for Onward, Christian Soldiers: The Growing Political Power of Catholics and Evangelicals in the United States by Deal Hudson. The book describes the history of Evangelicals and Catholics in the American political scene and what can be expected from this surprising coalition in the future. Several individuals at the party, including Mr. Hudson’s daughter, were interviewed. Mr. Hudson spoke about how he came to write the book and what effect he hoped it would have on readers. Senator Sam Brownback spoke about the important role that faith-based communities have in getting aid to Darfur, fighting against abortion, and stopping human trafficking. Following their prepared remarks they answered questions from members of the audience.
