Saree Makdisi talked about his book Palestine Inside Out: An Everyday Occupation, published by W.W. Norton. In the book he talks about life for Palestinians under Israeli occupation and the impact of the partition wall separating Israel and its settlements inside the occupied territory from the rest of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. In his appearance at the Palestine Center he provided details of everyday life for Palestinians, read selections from his book, and used maps to supplement his presentation. Following his remarks, Professor Makdisi responded to audience members' questions.

Saree Makdisi is a professor of English and comparative literature at UCLA. He is a frequent contributor to the Los Angeles Times. close
