Jerry Fritz talked about Senate passage of a resolution that, if approved, would nullify Federal Communications Commission {FCC) rules allowing television stations to be owned by newspapers. He also discussed other concerns by some in Congress regarding media consolidation, consideration by the FCC of changes which would require broadcasters to do more to provide for the needs of local communities, and the transition to digital television. Allbritton owns eight local television operations in the United States.
