Michael Paul Mason talked about his book, Head Cases (Farrar, Straus, and Giroux), with Julie Englander. The book recounts his work with the sufferers of traumatic brain injuries. In the book he profiles several people he has assisted and relays his travel to what he deems “the brain injury capital of the world,” Balad Air Force Base in Iraq.

In his interview with Ms. Englander, Mr. Mason talked about how be became interested in the subject and read excerpts from his book. The mother of the people profiled in Head Cases was in the audience and talked about her son’s recovery from a traumatic brain injury. Mr. Mason responded to audience members' questions following his remarks.
