Kimberly Dozier talked about the risks and dangers of news reporting and surviving injuries sustained during wartime with students from around the nation participating in the Close Up Foundation’s week-long government studies program. She is the author of Breathing Fire: Fighting to Report -- and Survive -- the War in Iraq (Meredith Books; May 13, 2008). Her memoir describes the culture of war-zone reporting and the demands and perils of women covering dangerous events as well as recounting the serious injuries she sustained while covering the war in Iraq for CBS News and process of recovery that she shared with others wounded in Iraq. close
