Tony Horowitz talked about his book A Voyage Long and Strange: Rediscovering the New World, published by Henry Holt and Co. Mr. Horwitz felt compelled to examine the European explorers who reached the Americas before the Pilgrims after a visit to Plymouth Rock left him unable to account for a century of history. His primary time frame was from 1492 with Christopher Columbus to the establishment of Jamestown in 1607. He spoke about the personal journey that he took across the Americas to understand the different waves of explorers. He emphasized the exploration of the Spanish. Mr. KHorowitz also answered questions from members of the audience. close
