William Bennett spoke about his life and career, focusing on personal recollections of President Reagan. Mr. Bennett was President Reagan’s secretary of education from 1985-1988. He was also the first director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy and former chairman of the National Endowment of the Humanities. He talked about writing The Book of Virtues and his most recent book, America: The Last Best Hope, published by Thomas Nelson , which recounts the history of the United States in two volumes that range from the founding of the country, America’s involvement in World Wars I and II, and the American presidency. After his presentation, he responded to questions from audience members. close
