The committee heard testimony on the high costs of health care to American businesses and individuals. Witnesses testified on the effects of the high costs, and on reform measures including H.R. 3205, the Health Insurance Coverage and Cost Containment Act of 1991. Witnesses included the director of the Congressional Budget Office, Robert Reischauer, who testified on the effects of the high costs of health care on the nation’s economy, and on six strategies meant to hold down the costs of health care. close
