The forum, “America 2000: Strategies for Historically Black Colleges and Universities Involvement,” is part of a Bush administration effort to involve black colleges in the White House education strategy for improving public and private educational institutions. The keynote speaker was Mr. Kearns, who discussed the necessity of educating the entire public to a higher level as in other countries. Mr. Kolb also discussed the administration’s education policy and the American 2000 Initiative. close
