Kerry, member of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs committee, spoke to an audience in the Kennedy Political Union on the investigation of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International by the Senate Banking committee. Several countries seized the assets of BCCI in mid-1991 when it was disclosed the international financial institution may have been involved in money laundering and the financial deals of known terrorists.
