Citing the lack of time to prepare and his commitment to his family, Representative Dave McCurdy (D-OK) announced his decision not to pursue a campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1992. Speaking from his home state of Oklahoma, Rep. McCurdy went on to prescribe measures he felt would be necessary for his party and the country to regain stability, including fiscal responsibility and family values. He took questions from reporters following his prepared remarks. In response to a reporter’s question, Rep. McCurdy said he would continue to cross the country determining the attitudes of Americans and aiding his party’s responsiveness to the American people. close
