Senator Gramm, member of the Senate Budget Committee, spoke with reporters about tax cut plans that have been announced in the last few days, including one by fellow Texan, Senator Lloyd Bentsen. Senator Gramm is critical of the Bentsen plan which would pay for $72.5 billion in tax cuts over five years with cuts in the defense budget. Senator Gramm and Georgia congressman Newt Gingrich have their own economic incentive proposal. close
