Natan Sharansky, former prisoner of conscience in the Soviet Union, spoke at the twentieth anniversary luncheon of the National Conference on Soviet Jewry in New York, NY. The National Conference on Soviet Jewry was organized to aid Jews' emigration from the Soviet Union. Mr. Sharansky spoke on the history of the movement to bring Jews out of the Soviet Union, which included not only creating awareness outside of the Soviet Union, but bridging barriers inside the Soviet Union as well.
