Dr. Zamora, leader of the main opposition party in El Salvador, talked about the hope for peace in his country, and discussed the history of the civil war in El Salvador. He also discussed the history of relations between El Salvador and the United States. El Salvador has been fighting a civil war for 11 years. Peace negotiations between the government and rebels have been taking place through the United Nations over the last year. Mr. Zamora expected the negotiations to be successful in the near future. close
