Participants discussed Guam Society of Obstetricians v. Joseph Ada. In March 1991 the U.S. territory of Guam passed a law banning all abortions, with certain exceptions. Performing an abortion became a felony under the law. The American Civil Liberties Union and a Guam attorney challenged the Guam law in a case heard on November 4 before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Honolulu. close
