Mr. Irvine, head of the conservative group Accuracy in Media, called for all of the 1992 presidential candidates to demand the release of any American POW’s still being held by the former Soviet Union. It was also suggested that the Soviets may still have prisoners from World War II and the Korean War, and may be holding survivors of Korean Airlines Flight 007, which was shot down in 1983 off the Soviet Pacific coast. Mr. Irvine said Accuracy in Media was offering $100,000 for information leading to the liberation of American POW’s being held in the Soviet Union. close
