Presidential Campaign Strategy
American University holds an annual seminar for campaign managers and students. During this session, Mr. Fahrenkopf discussed campaign strategy, focusing on advertisements and financing. He concentrated on the 1988 presidential campaign, and stressed the uniqueness of presidential politics. Mr. Fahrenkopf served as the chairman of the Republican National Committee from 1983 through 1989. He helped develop and implement strategies for Republicans running for President in 1980, 1984 and 1988. Mr. Fahrenkopf’s presentation included political campaign commercials. close
