The House Public Works Subcommittee heard testimony on a GAO report concerning oversight and maintenance of airplanes used for public transportation. Witnesses included representatives of the General Accounting Office, the Federal Aviation Administration and the airline industry. The GAO report found evidence that current maintenance procedures were inadequate to deal with heavily used aircraft. close
