Robin Laird, researcher for the Institute for Defense Analysis, discussed the “New Europe” following the breakup of the Soviet Union and the unification of Germany in a seminar sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson Center. Mr. Laird discussed the role of the Soviet Union in Europe and the changes in its foreign policy following the unification of Germany. He responded to questions from the audience following his prepared remarks. close
