Bush Campaign Speech President George H.W. Bush spoke before the Rotary Club of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to promote the ideals of his administration and the country. He criticized the isolationist policies of the left in the political process, and called for the opening of foreign markets. President Bush touched on various topics in his speech, including broccoli, his recent trip to Japan in which he collapsed State Dinner, and recent changes in the Soviet Union. New Hampshire will hold the nation’s first political primary for the 1992 presidential election in February, 1992. The president responded to questions from the audience following his prepared remarks. He also received a small lighthouse statue from the Rotary Club. close
